​Obtain free college credits by participating in the following programs

​

  • College Bridge Program

​​​The College Bridge program offers qualified juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. Students participate voluntarily after school or in the summer, earning a semester of transferable college credit and a semester of high school elective credit upon completion of the course. CPS and the university partnerships absorb all costs of tuition, books and transportation.

 

Sev​eral universities offer four-year scholarships to successful College Bridge students. Participating colleges include Chicago State University; the City Colleges of Chicago; DePaul University; Loyola University; National-Louis University; Roosevelt University; Northeastern Illinois University; North Park University; Northwestern University; Roosevelt University; St. Xavier University; University of Chicago; and the University of Illinois.

  • Collegiate Scholars Program

​The University of Chicago Collegiate Scholar’s Program (UCCSP) was founded in 2003 as a three-year program that aims to prepare talented Chicago Public Schools students in grades 10-12 for admission and success at the nation’s top colleges and universities. UCCSP is shaped around a core curriculum of humanities, social science, math, and science courses during the summer months and enrichment activities geared toward college readiness, cultural awareness, and civic engagement during the academic year.

Collegiate Scholars are partake in six weeks of collegiate level courses over the summer and ongoing enrichment activities on evenings and weekends during the school year.

  • ​DeVry University Advantage Academy

​Available to qualified Chicago Public School students*, Advantage Academy enables students to take college courses — and actually earn an associate degree in Network Systems Administration or Web Graphic Design—all while still in high school.

​

One of the fastest growing career segments, Network System Administration (NSA) professionals set up and administer networks for virtually any type of company or organization. This program helps students get a jumpstart in this booming career field.

Another fast growing career segment, Web Graphic Design (WGD) professionals produce high-quality, web-enabled graphics and develop all types of graphic media including web pages, marketing collateral, advertising, instructional material, and multimedia projects. Upon completion of your web graphic design associate degree program, you will have created a wide array of design samples to build a full professional portfolio.

  • Elmhurst College Summer Academy (July 1st - August 3rd 2013)

​The Academy is a remarkable two-week program students between their junior and senior year in high school, who are considering careers in such exciting areas as mathematics, and the natural and physical sciences. In classes and seminars, you'll sharpen your math skills, explore important topics in science, and master a variety of computer programs.

​
Classes expand on what you've already learned during your first two years of high school. You will sharpen your skills in advanced algebra, and trigonometry, and discover the real-world applications of math and science.

You'll have plenty of opportunities to use computers and the Internet to explore math and science. You'll get familiar with major software packages used in math and science, including Derive, PCSolve, Mathematica, and Maple.

But that's not all. You'll also gain the skills and confidence to excel, in college and beyond. And you'll experience campus life at a great college with an expanding reputation for excellence. You'll meet our top-notch faculty, get to know Elmhurst students, and gain confidence in your ability to succeed in college.
