Scholarships

NEIU offers a large number of funding opportunities for students to help reduce the cost of a college education. There are two types of financial assistance open to undocumented students, general scholarships and departmental tuition waivers. These resources do not require legal status or a social security number; their eligibility criteria range from grade point averge (GPA), major, community involvement, etc.

NEIU General Scholarships

Foundation annually awards thousands of dollars in scholarships and awards supported by the
generous contributions of University alumni, faculty, staff and friends. Some scholarships are based on financial need. Some are merit-based, awarded to students whose ability to contribute to campus life is significant because of their academic potential or talent in a particular field.
